Ever notice how you make plans, and then you have something come up and you have to change it all up?
Well, that is exactly how April has gone. Haha
At the beginning of the month, we got word that my mama had a stroke and was admitted into the hospital. Within a couple of days of that, we also heard that a family member lost her father. I knew I had to come back to be with my family. But boy, it sure was hard to leave!
Still hurting, still not sleeping well, and still getting attacked by the enemy, I packed up my suitcase, and we headed to the airport. I was mentally fighting even on the plane! I arrived stateside a tired and slightly emotional lady. Our enemy sure is a mean one. Oh my stars, he plays dirty!
While it has been a blessing to be able to have come back to be with my family during this season of mourning and medical unknowns, it sure has been taxing on my relationship! Y’all, communication is really tough when you are on different continents and the 8-hour time difference; not to mention you are both walking through different things, and the enemy didn’t let up on either of us!! But God had each of us surrounded with some amazing God-following people. Those people pointed us back to God. While it has been a struggle, we have found a way to make technology work in our favor! WhatsApp for the win! LOL I am so thankful that we are able to chat and do video chats during this season. With the help of technology, we have been able to pray with each other and encourage each other where we are currently planted.
Back in Kenya, the guys were fixing things around home base. They had to replace the solar systems on multiple buildings, get new inverters, found themselves in need of fixing the roof on every building due to the rains and winds of Africa. Oh and meetings.
Things definitely have NOT gone according to plan! The rainy season hit hard and fast. So they are trying to do repairs as the rains let up. It’s been a busy month. A productive month on two continents!
I am counting down the days until I get to pick up my guys from the airport and we will be reunited again!! Until that day, we both have tasks to complete and lots of prayers to be shared. God is so faithful.
We are already lining up some places for us to come share all that God is doing in us and through Be Hope International. We are asking for prayers as the guys wrap up some things and head this way in just over a week.
Stay tuned because an incredible opportunity is coming!!!! We are so stinkin’ excited to get to be a part of what God is doing in Kenya!
