Why, oh why, is waiting SO hard?

We are so grateful for all of the doors that God is opening for the month of March! But can we be real for a moment? This time spent healing (waiting) has been a journey. Like a wooden rollercoaster that should have been torn down years ago, journey!

Why is waiting such a difficult thing?

We wait in lines. We wait for the weather to change. We wait for flights at an airport. We wait for game day updates. We wait for Christmas (mostly). So why, oh why, is it so hard to wait on the Lord and His timing and even to rest?

Well, I can’t speak for you. But for these “doers”, being still doesn’t come as easy. The recovery process alone can be a rollercoaster, as you relearn what your body’s limits are for that day. But time and time again, the Scriptures say to “wait on the Lord”.

Like in Psalms 27:14, it says “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

So what has God shown us in the past few

months? His timing is PERFECT! His ways are PERFECT! We can and should do what Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us. It says to “Trust in the Lord with all you heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

When we stopped throwing an adult tantrum, and took it to Him in prayer, releasing it fully, He showed up in ways that only He could! And He still is!!

He has opened up doors for us to share what God is doing in our lives. He had others reach out and talk about opportunities to come give testimony of His goodness and faithfulness.

So if we have seen Him do it time and time again, why do we tend to forget?

The short answer is that we are human. We take our eyes of of our Savior and get stuck on the details of the storm or journey ahead. So like Peter in the book of Matthew chapter 14, we can become afraid and begin to sink in our own circumstances. Thankfully, we have a choice to stay there or refix our eyes on where they belong!!

We aren’t perfect Christians, but we will continue to say yes to God’s call. We will continue to place one foot in front of the other, as we learn to trust Him more completely!

What’s coming for March? We aren’t fully sure, but we are happy to continue to tell God that we are along for the ride!

We have a few speaking engagements both local and out of state. And we are thankful for this journey that He is walking with us!
